New Children's Centre Development Co-ordinator

Helen Ross today commenced her new role as Children's Centre Development Co-ordinator for the Teams and Kingsmeadow areas.

Helen joins the service from Youth and Community Learning where she worked for 2 years as a Training Development Co-ordinator. More recently, Helen has been working at Blaydon Winlaton Children's Centre on a temporary basis providing support to the Head of Centre.

solution finder Service Directory to be Re-launched

Gateshead Early Years and Childcare Service have taken on the management of the solution finder Service Directory.

solution finder is the online searchable directory of services and solutions for children, young people and families in Gateshead, Newcastle and Sunderland.

There will be a re-launch of solution finder in the Autumn. More details to follow.

The deadline for copy for the August edition of the Early Years and Childcare Service News Bulletin is Monday 14 August 2006.

Children's Centre Information Assistants Appointed

Information Assistants have been appointed to 6 Children's Centres in Gateshead. It is hoped all will be in post by 29 August 2006.

Appointments were made to Bede, Bensham/St Chads, Chopwell, Deckham, Felling and Matov Children's Centres.

The new staff will be the first point of contact at their Children's Centre and will develop the Information Hub, set up and maintain links with relevant agencies and to ensure there is a constant flow of public information provided.

In addition to this the new staff will provide administration support to the Head of Centre where required and to plan and organise events for their Children's Centre.

The Early Years and Childcare Services wishes all the new Information Assistants good luck in their new roles.
