Washingwell Community Primary School

Washingwell Community Primary School in Whickham are looking to provide a breakfast, out of school and holiday club located within their school from September 2007 and are in the process of inviting applications to run this service on their behalf.

Washingwell Primary School has a purpose built Out of School Club facility. A safe and secure play area has been established outside this room with access to a sports field. The room also has it's own telephone connection. The breakfast club will offer 16 places and the after school club will offer 16 places, depending upon Ofsted registration, operating term time only. Depending upon demand a holiday club will also operate from the school. The club will be based in the school's community room with occasional use of the dining area, school hall and outdoor facilities i.e. sports field.

High Fell Children's Centre Strawberry Fayre

Come along to our Strawberry Fayre on Saturday 21st July 2007 from 11am - 1pm at Wrekenton Methodist Church.

Activities include raffle, tombola, scones with strawberries and cream, arts and crafts, bouncy castle, face painting, balloon making, competitions and much more.....everyone welcome!

Barnardo's Gateshead Family Resource Centre 25th Year Celebration

Barnardo's Gateshead Family Resource Centre 25th Year Celebration will take place at Saltwell Park on 7th of July 2007 from 10am - 2pm.

Come along and help celebrate 25 years of working with disabled children and young people and their families. Activites include bouncy castle, face paints, fire engine, live bands, music and movement, a raffle and an information display. All are welcome!

Early Arts North East e-newsletter

Early Arts North East are looking for contributions for their quarterly e-newsletter which will contain information on events, projects and activities for children from birth to 6 years old in the region.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 29 June 2007.

Early Arts North East is a regional agency for arts and foundation stage learning. They work in collaboration with Sightlines Initiative and are supported by the Arts Council.

They are looking for contributions for the next edition of the e-newsletter, which will be going out in July 2007. If you have any events, activities or examples of good practice you would like to share with other people working in under fives and foundation stage settings they would be delighted to hear from you.

Community Safety Fair

Bensham / St. Chad's Children's Centre is hosting a Community Safety Fair at St. Chad's Community Project on Liddell Terrace, Bensham on Friday the 22nd of June 2007 between 9.30 am and 12 noon.

As part of National Child Safety Week and also National Sure Start Month we are holding a fun event with lots of activities, all with a safety theme covering fire, road, sun and home safety. Safety information will be available at the event for parents to collect.

National Child Safety Week's motto this year is "Safer Children, healthier lives. Pass it on."
