Bug Busting Day - Headlice Beware!

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, A Nuffield Theatre Company production

Basic Cooking Skills every Monday (4 week course)

Come along for tips on preparing healthy, nutritious meals on a budget supported by a Community Nutritionist. Limited places - please book in advance, no crèche but children are welcome to come along and see that meal times can be fun!

Gateshead Gym Bike Challenge
Bede Children's Centre and Bede Community Centre will be hosting one of the five dates for the Breast Cancer Research Gym Bike Challenge.
The purpose of this event is to raise money through individual sponsorship for Breast Cancer Research. The challenge will involve cycling for a total of 20 minutes within the Centre on our cycle machine. Participants will be given an allocated 20 minute slot and a sponsorship form on contacting the Centre.

Five venues confirmed to be taking part over the week are:
Monday 29th October at Felling Children's Centre
Tuesday 30th October at Bede Children's Centre
Wednesday 31st October at Deckham / Elgin Centre
Thursday 1st November at Gateshead International Stadium
Friday 2nd November at Leam Lane (Youth and Community Learning and Children's Centre Combined).

A number of new events have been organised for the coming months by Teams and Dunston Sure Start Children's Centres.
Saturdads
Saturday 20th October 2007, 10.00am - 11.30am
St Nicholas Church Hall, Dunston
A new group starting for Dads/Grandads/Male Carers and their children aged 0-5 years. Come along and join in the fun in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere! The group will be continuing in the new year the first Saturday in every month.
Halloween Activities
Thursday 25th October 2007, 1.00pm - 3.00pm

Come and join in the fun! Halloween arts, crafts and games
Halloween Party
Wednesday 31st October 2007, 4.00pm - 6.00pm

Come and join in the fun! For children 2-4 years (younger siblings welcome).
Young Mum's Group
Every Wednesday 1.00pm - 3.00pm
For mums up to age 20. Come along and join the group and meet new friends. Free Creche available.

Pink Party at The Elgin Centre
Friday 26th October from 10.00am - 2.00pm. Proceeds will be donated to the local Breast Cancer Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Early Arts North East E-Bulletin Autumn 2007
Early Arts North East are now compiling their Autumn quarterly e-newsletter containing information on events, projects and activities for children from birth to 6 years old in the region.
They are looking for contributions for the e-newsletter which will be going out in November. If you have any events, activities or examples of good practice you would like to share with other people working in under fives and foundation stage settings they would be delighted to hear from you. The deadline for submissions is Friday 26th October. If you would be interested in receiving or contributing to the newsletter or being part of the database please let inform them by replying to anna@earlyartsnortheast.org
