A Strategy for Childminding in Gateshead

Gateshead have written a strategy for the childminding sector in Gateshead and included childminders consultations on the plan and strategy.

Following consultations with childminders in Gateshead, a group of officers and representatives from the childminding sector drew up a strategy with actions to support and develop childminding. Following this, the strategy was shared with groups of childminders for further comments.

Report on work around 'A Childcare Sufficiency Plan 2008 - 2011'

This is a report on consultation that took place with Out of School childcare providers on the Gateshead Childcare Sufficiency Plan.

Gateshead has carried out a survey to assess current and future demand for childcare and match this against demand. A strategy with actions arising from this survey is available by clicking here Download file (Word Doc 83KB)

This report summarises the responses to the strategy from a representative sample of the Out of School Club sector.

A playworker vacany has arisen at Ryton, Crawcrook and District Youth Centre. This is a permanent post for 16 hours per week.

Salary: £6.30 - £6.83 per hour
Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3
Experience: Relevant experience of childcare or playwork required.
