Half-Term at Bede Sure Start Children's Centre

Bede Sure Start Children's Centre have two half-term events coming up week commencing 26th May 2008.

A Messy Day on Tuesday 27th May from 1.00pm - 2.30pm.
There will be arts and crafts activities, water play and more.

Fun Play Day and Sensory Story Time is on Wednesday 28th May from 1.30pm - 3.00pm to celebrate the opening of the new sensory room in the Centre. There will be fun games and a themed sensory/story time activity.

Fell Dyke Community Primary School

The Governing Body of Fell Dyke Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a private provider to run sessional care, full day care and out of school care (including breakfast club, after school club and holiday club) from Monday 13 October 2008. The Governing Body are fully committed to facilitating multi-agency partnerships to provide a first class provision for the whole school community.

The setting, depending on Ofsted registration, will have 52 places at any one time and will provide:

Sessional care for children, aged between three and five years, for periods up to four hours, once or twice each week day, all year round.

Full day care for children, aged between three and five years, between 7.30am and 6pm every week day, all year round.

Breakfast club for children, aged between three and eleven years, between 7.30am and 9am every week day, term time only.

After school club for children, aged between three and eleven years, between 3.15pm and 6pm every week day, term time only.

Holiday club for children, aged between three and eleven years, between 7.30am and 6pm during every school holiday period.

Premises

The successful provider will be based in the dedicated private provider's base, which includes two large classrooms and store area, office accommodation, kitchen, toilets, car park and entrance. The accommodation will also benefit from brand new, arctic blue, anti-glare double glazing and freshly decorated walls. In addition, the children and staff will have access to the multi-sensory garden between 9am and 12 noon and 1pm and 5pm. By prior arrangement, the successful provider will also have access to the school hall, school yard and school field.

A completed application form together with the required accompanying documents should be returned to Kelly Nicholson, Early Years and Childcare Service, The Dryden Centre, Evistones Road, Gateshead, NE9 5UR by 12 noon on Friday 6 June 2008.

Birtley Children's Centre

Birtley Children's Centre are seeking to secure an independent provider to open and manage an Out of School Childcare service on the Children's Centre site.

The Centre is situated on Pembroke Avenue in Birtley and provides excellent links with the A1M and local road links with Gateshead, Newcastle, Chester-le-Street and Washington.

In partnership with local primary schools Barley Mow Primary School and Portobello Primary School, Birtley Children's Centre have identified a need within the local community for an Out of School Care service and will work in partnership with a provider to encourage the successful delivery of this service.

The Out of School Care Provision.
Birtley Children's Centre are looking to secure an Out of School Care provider to cater of children 4 - 11 years. Initially there will be 26 Out of School Care places to be registered within the Children's Centre multi purpose hall with an estimated annual rental of £2,328 (term time only plus service charges) for the 1st year to be reviewed thereafter.

The opening hours will be 8.00am - 8.50am and 3.00pm - 6.00pm.

Early Arts North East are currently looking for articles for our quarterly Early Years e-bulletin.
