Three and Four Year Old Free Entitlement

Introducing the flexible entitlement to early years provision.

From September 2010, as well as increasing the number of hours available in the free entitlement, delivery is becoming more flexible, to be more responsive to families' needs and to enhance the learning and development of children.

Gateshead Leisure Centre Under 5's Christmas Party

Gateshead Leisure Centre's Under 5's Christmas Party will take place on Tuesday the 9th of December from 1.00pm - 3.00pm.

Tickets are on sale now from GLC reception for £4.20 per child. Cost includes a present from Santa plus all entertainment which includes party games, face painting, bouncy castle, parachute games, Christmas crafts etc.

Playbuilder Funding

Gateshead Council has been awarded Capital Funding in the region of £1 million to develop public play areas over the next 3 years. This will include building entirely new sites if it emerges as a key need identified by the local community or redeveloping an existing playarea to meet the children and young people's developmental needs. We hope to encourage and support community and voluntary groups to submit bids to deliver and run local play projects.
